Beaches - Metallia
A few words about Metallia..
Metalleia beach is located on the south of the island near Limenaria. It was named after an old iron processing plant that used to stand there.
The white washed sand in contrast with the surrounding area, black from the iron, creates a natural work of art, a unique combination of originality and beauty.
It is an organized beach with sunbeds, beach umbrellas and a small taverna.
The waters are shallow and safe for kids.
Underground caves are formed at the edge of the beach.
You can access the beach by a short dirt road situated under the deserted buildings that used to house offices of the old iron mines.
