A few words about Prinos..

One of the biggest villages northwest of the island is that of Prinos.  Prinos, Kazaviti, Dasilio and Skala Prinos compose a very diverse profile of the northwestern Thassos.

The village was chosen for the construction of the only health centre of the island due to its location, which is halfway Limenas – Limenaria route.

On Mondays, many locals and tourists visit the open air street market that is setup in the square, where traders are tooting all sorts of merchandise.

The ‘honey festival’ has become a tradition since it is organized annually on the 11th of August in Prinos where visitors can taste for free all honey products, enjoy traditional dances from the dancing groups of the local associations, taste various delicacies and participate in a festival of fun and mirth.

During the winter months a visit to the press will give you the opportunity to watch step by step the oil production process.

Do not omit to stop on the way to Kazaviti, so that you take in its wonderful and diverse scenery.
