A few words about Polygnotos Vagis Museum..
Polygnotos Vagis Museum is located in the picturesque village of Potamia. It is housed in a two-store stone building at the center of the village, which previously was the elementary school. In its premises are displayed artworks of the world-renowned Thassian sculptor Polygnotos Vagis, who was distinguished in America with his technique of the direct sculpture on diverse stones. He was inspired from the Greek nature depicting in his creations the moon, fish, various species of birds and animals etc. The materials he used were mainly bronze, cement, marble, granite, stone and wood. Artworks from his personal collection left as a bequest to his birthplace and are exhibited in the homonymous museum.
