Getting to Kavala city/port and Keramoti port

You reach the city of Kavala from the "Ignatia Odos" E90, either by car or by KTEL coach from Thessaloniki (express coach has a 2 hour journey time), or any other major northern Greek city. From Kavala bus station you can, if you wish, take a bus to Keramoti. To reach Keramoti by car, stay on the E90 until you see the exit for Keramoti/Kavala Airport.

By airplane

Thassos does not have an airport, but it is well serviced by the airport of Kavala 'Megas Alexandros', with regular European flights during the summer and daily flights to Athens all year round. Most of the seasonal flights are provided by charter companies.

The airport is based near Keramoti, making it easy to get to the port of Keramoti by taxi, or alternatively you can hire a car from the airport for your holiday to Thassos. Thessaloniki airport (International Airport 'Makedonia') is a much larger airport than Kavala with flights from all over Europe.

It also benefits from several budget airlines. From here you can either take the coach to Kavala or hire a car and make your own way, journey times should not be more than 2 hours. There is only one toll station on this journey.
